LAS VEGAS ROADRUNNERS NOW OFFERS

MULTIPLE TRAINING LOCATIONS

Las Vegas – Las Vegas Roadrunners, a comprehensive training program that prepares runners of all levels for The Las Vegas Marathon, now offers three weekly group-training locations.

Those looking to begin training for The 2008 Las Vegas Marathon are encouraged to visit www.lvmarathon.com to join Las Vegas Roadrunners.  Groups now meet every Saturday at Fleet Feet Sports in Summerlin (7591 W. Washington Ave.) and The Las Vegas Marathon Offices (3153 E. Warm Springs Rd., Ste. 200).  A third group also meets every Sunday in central Las Vegas at The Athlete’s Foot (4712 W. Sahara Ave.).  All groups meet at 5:30 a.m.

Great for beginners with limited to no running experience, the program is designed to take anyone from the couch to the finish line.  The systematic training program includes several real race experiences, valuable knowledge and insight from special guest speakers and weekday training schedules designed to prepare runners for success on race day.  All members of Las Vegas Roadrunners receive various specials and discounts at The Academy of Healing Arts, the official massage partner of The Las Vegas Marathon.  Those interested can register by visiting www.lvmarathon.com or by calling 702.731.1052.

The Las Vegas Marathon will take place on Sunday Dec. 7, 2008 at 6 a.m. at Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino.  Fireworks start the race as runners run down the legendary Las Vegas Strip. Contrary to previous years, The 2008 Las Vegas Marathon is limiting the number of participants.  Once 20,000 runners are signed up for the full and half marathon combined, registration will be closed.
